Using Music as a Bridge to Share China's Voice

My Story with Cultural Heritage…

As a post-2000s university student, I deeply value the internship opportunity provided by the World Music Culture Museum. In this hall dedicated to world music, I have grown in both cultural confidence and understanding of my mission as a young person.

In the Traditional Chinese Music Exhibition Area, the replica of the Zenghou Yi Chime Bells awakens the ancient rhythm of Chinese civilization. In the galleries, the century-old Broadwood piano — once touched by Beethoven and Brahms — tells the story of East-West musical exchange. As I guide visitors through the exhibits each day, I witness their genuine appreciation for the museum's collection, and I truly come to understand the weight of cultural public service.

Based in Dalian, the museum serves as an important window for Sino-foreign artistic exchange. During my internship, I have come to grasp the founding vision of Director Zhang Jingxuan: "Revitalizing China through culture, and conveying the Chinese dream through sound." I have also embraced the new museum philosophy of bringing cultural artifacts closer to the public.

I am grateful for the growth platform the museum has provided me. As a young person of this new era, I will continue to use music as a medium — to pass on the melodies of Chinese civilization, tell China's story well, and serve as a youthful ambassador for cultural exchange between China and the world.
