Tempering the Original Aspiration of Young and Middle-Aged Cadres

To innovate ideological and political education methods for cadres, deepen the cultivation of Party spirit and cultural literacy, and break through the boundaries of traditional classroom teaching, the Young and Middle-Aged Cadres Training Class from Shanghai's Yangpu District recently visited the Century Sound · World Music Culture Museum for an immersive, on-site ideological and political education activity. Through the cultural immersion of musical heritage, the cadres were able to reflect on their original aspirations and gather strength for future endeavors.

As a National Second-Class Museum, the World Music Culture Museum has consistently upheld its founding mission: "Revitalizing China through culture, and conveying the Chinese dream through sound." The museum is dedicated to integrating the dissemination of music culture with ideological and aesthetic education. Leveraging its rich collection, the Red Music Culture Exhibition Area, and the outcomes of Sino-foreign musical cultural exchanges, the museum has created a distinctive on-site educational base. Through music and culture, it brings static artifacts to life as dynamic vehicles of ideological education.

During the teaching session, the participating cadres followed the thread of a century of musical heritage, systematically touring the museum's special exhibition areas. They deeply engaged with stories of red music and the development of Chinese and foreign music, while learning about the historical memories and spiritual significance behind the museum's precious artifacts. Special emphasis was placed on the patriotic devotion and contemporary responsibility embodied in red music culture. Through classic compositions and historical relics, the cadres experienced the profound foundations of cultural confidence and came to appreciate the vital role music culture plays in transmitting the red gene, uniting the strength of the nation, and promoting the exchange of civilizations.

Compared to traditional theoretical lectures, this immersive on-site educational activity was novel in format and vivid in content. It moved beyond textbooks, using the cultural landscape as a foundation to deeply integrate ideological and political education with musical heritage. The cadres were able to absorb the artistic and spiritual power in a subtle yet profound way, tempering their Party spirit and nurturing their patriotic feelings through cultural immersion. After the tour, all participants gathered at the Dalian Voice Dream Factory Concert Hall to listen to a keynote presentation by Director Zhang Jingxuan, titled "World Music Culture Museum: A Bridge Connecting the World."

Director Zhang systematically elaborated on the "New Museum Concept" — "Revitalizing China through culture, and conveying the Chinese dream through sound." He comprehensively introduced the museum's years of engagement in international cultural exchanges and its systematic efforts to promote China's outstanding traditional culture abroad. Grounded in the foundation of Chinese civilization and using music as a bridge, the museum has built a platform for mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. It has innovated contemporary expressions of traditional culture and methods of international dissemination, creating a referable model for cultural heritage and cultural export systems.

This on-site educational activity serves as a vivid example of cross-regional collaboration in ideological and political education and the empowerment of cadre training through cultural heritage resources. Looking ahead, the World Music Culture Museum will continue to uphold its new museum development philosophy, further explore the educational resources within its collection, and persistently enhance its distinctive on-site political education programs.
