On June 23, during the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (2026 Dalian Summer Davos Forum), Prime Minister Tarek Rahman of Bangladesh, accompanied by his wife and a national delegation, visited the World Music Culture Museum in Dalian.

Founder and Director Zhang Jingxuan personally received the delegation and systematically introduced the civilization‑dialogue value embodied by the museum’s collection of more than 10,000 world‑music artifacts. During the visit, Prime Minister Tarek Rahman showed special appreciation for the replica of the Zenghou Yi Chime Bells, praising the ritual and musical civilization embedded in China’s bronze chime tradition. He expressed great admiration for the museum’s rich and diverse collection of musical art treasures from multiple countries, fully acknowledged its global influence in music‑culture dissemination, and highly commended Director Zhang Jingxuan for his long‑term commitment to people‑to‑people cultural diplomacy and his outstanding contributions to presenting both Chinese culture and world music heritage to the international community.

The two sides held in‑depth discussions on music diplomacy, agreeing that music serves as a borderless medium of exchange and that this museum, which brings together rare musical treasures from around the world, is an important bridge connecting civilizations and deepening China‑Bangladesh friendship.

The First Lady performed an impromptu piece on the John Broadwood nine‑foot grand piano once played by Beethoven, experiencing firsthand the unique charm of this classical art treasure. Delegation members also immersed themselves in China’s outstanding traditional musical culture while exploring the museum’s globally rare music collections.

This visit, with music as its medium, has injected new vitality into cultural exchanges and friendship between China and Bangladesh.

During the Davos forum, over 300 New Champions visited the World Music Culture Museum, where they gained a deeper understanding of China, perceived Liaoning, and fell in love with Dalian through the universal language of music.
