On the morning of June 25, during the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (2026 Dalian Summer Davos Forum), Mr. Li Wenhai, Vice Mayor of Tianjin Municipal People's Government, led a delegation to visit the Century Echo · World Music Culture Museum. The delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the museum's collection development, cultural achievements, and international exchange practices, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics including innovative development of the cultural and museum industry, enhancement of urban cultural soft power, and cross-regional cultural collaboration. Mr. Zhang Jingxuan, Founder and Director of the World Music Culture Museum, accompanied the delegation during the visit.
During the visit, the delegation toured the museum's core thematic exhibition areas, receiving a detailed introduction from Director Zhang Jingxuan on the museum's collection system development, preservation of musical artifacts, public cultural services, and international cultural exchange efforts. They had an up-close appreciation of millennium-spanning replica chime bells and centuries-old precious Western musical artifacts, immersing themselves in the unique charm of music culture that transcends time and connects China with the world. Vice Mayor Li Wenhai fully affirmed the museum's rich collection resources, innovative exhibition concepts, and its successful hosting of international guests' networking receptions during this Summer Davos Forum, as well as its contributions to the city's international cultural dissemination.
During the exchange, Vice Mayor Li Wenhai remarked that music is a borderless universal language, and cultural venues serve as important windows showcasing a city's cultural heritage and open character. He noted that Tianjin and Dalian, both key coastal opening-up cities in northern China, share deep connections with the Summer Davos Forum – with the Forum set to return to Tianjin in 2027. He expressed the hope that the two cities would take this visit as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the cultural and museum sector, using music culture as a bond. By leveraging the Davos global high-end platform, the two cities could empower industrial development through culture, promote practical cooperation through exchanges, and jointly contribute to the development of a highland for northern China's opening-up.
Director Zhang Jingxuan stated that the World Music Culture Museum has always been committed to the goal of "building an international hub for music cultural exchange." During this Summer Davos Forum, the museum successfully hosted a Davos delegates' music salon, building a cultural exchange bridge for over 300 Chinese and international participants beyond the realm of economic and trade dialogue. Looking ahead, the museum will actively connect with the cultural exchange needs of Tianjin and Dalian, fully leverage its collection and international exchange experience, and proactively integrate into the cross-regional cultural collaborative development pattern. He also expressed anticipation for more diverse music cultural exchange activities during the 2027 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum, bringing cultural warmth to the event.
